Ways to Identify and Define Truth Inner Happiness.

Updated on June 5, 2010.

Around this time of the year, it becomes a routine for most to declare their New Year Resolution. We can get to hear our peers, co-workers, friends, associate, businesses and media coverage about their 2010 New Year resolution [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]. Well, it is good to have realistic goal setting.

Like many people I have some New Year resolution every year. For example, I want to overcome my naturally super skinny weight problem. I have been battling extreme weight problem for two decades. Since my early childhood years, I come to accept that something cannot be easily changed.

There is such thing as cause and effect. Every decision and its action have their consequences whether it is intended or unintended. Just like urban farming model, urban vertical farming or its alternative concept or green alternative energy fuel supply.

After all the effort, we may not achieve anything and find ourselves disillusioned. Perhaps, some suggestions are worth considering:

1.  Do we follow our heart?

In short, we need to know exactly what we truly want to achieve. We have to know where our interest and passion is.

For example, we may be interested in certain subject. If we want to pursue a fulfilling career, we can try pursuing one that is synchronous with our interest and passion. That will make our lives meaningful. Also, this is a very useful stress management technique.

2.  Is it really what we want?

When we look back in future (like 1 year, 5 year or more), will we be thankful for making this decision? Life is too short for unnecessary regret and mistake. Imagine if we devote all our resources only to realize later it is not what we really want.

3.  Do we become happier after successfully achieve this objective?

It is good to have goal oriented mindset. A combination of small success will lead to a big success. For example, successful weight management program is achieved through a series of progress.

Just remember any good thing in excess will become harmful if we do not know when to stop.

The key to life happiness is consistently pausing and review our values and priorities in life. The next thing to real inner happiness is moderation.
